Nigeria: 'Writing in Pidgin is More Expressive'
How do you find life as a professional dancer, a teacher, and a writer? All of these things actually give me a lot of fulfilment. Now that I am older, I don't have the kind of energy that I had in times past to be able to dance. But now I do express myself more proficiently in poems. So it gives me a lot of inner fulfilment: all the things that I could have said in dance, the statements that I would have loved to make-because all of the arts are a platform for making statements about what you feel passionately about-I express them more now in choreography and poetry.

Nigeria: Between Remi And Olusegun Obasanjo
I have read many scandalous books in my life, but none comes close to Madam Oluremi Obasanjo's book, Bitter Sweet - My Life With Obasanjo. Remi Obasanjo is former President Olusegun Obasanjo's first wife and probably the only one respectably wedded to him. Even Stella's marriage to him was solemnised only a few weeks to her sad death in 2005, almost 30 years after their son was born.

Enough of This Family, Please!
Last Saturday, I wanted to purchase a copy of Bitter-Sweet: My Life With Obasanjo, by Mrs. Oluremi Obasanjo, the woman who is sparing no effort just to underline her belief that no matter what anyone, including even Gen Olusegun Obasanjo himself, thinks is the case, the truth she would want everyone to see and swallow is that among the countless women swarming the Obasanjo harem, she is the only one qualified to be called his wife. Others, she insists, are mere concubines. To buttress this point, she reminds us on page 91 of Bitter-Sweet, that while broadcasting the profiles of leading members of the Obasanjo junta just before he handed over power to Alhaji Shehu Shagari in 1979, "the NTA showed me, and my husband, and our five children then, as the officially recognized and properly married wife, the wife of his youth he swore to keep forever."
