Nigeria: First Batch of Kano Pilgrims Airlifted
Five hundred pilgrims from Kano State were yesterday airlifted to Saudi Arabia from the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) by Kabo Air for this year's hajj. The pilgrims were drawn from four local governments of Wudil, Bichi, Bebeji and Garun-Malam. Some officials of medical and Islamic preachers' teams were also among those airlifted.

Nigeria: Kwara, Dubai Firm Sign Pact On Aviation College
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of an Aviation College in Kwara State is to be signed today at Government House, Ilorin. A statement from Akintoba Fatigun, the S.A. Egypt: End 'Shoot to Stop' Practice At Sinai Border Crossings
Since June 2007, Egyptian border guards have killed at least 32 African migrants trying to cross into Israel, and Israel has forcibly returned at least 139 border crossers to Egypt, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. Egypt has detained those returned, not revealed their whereabouts, and reportedly deported some to their home countries where they face a substantial risk of persecution.
