Nigeria: Nema Inspects Niger Bridge, Warns Vandals
Miscreants have been warned to desist from vandalising parts and structures of the Niger Bridge, as the bridge has lately been speculated to be on the verge of collapse before end of the year. The Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), AVM. Mohammed Audu-Bida (rtd), gave the warning when experts from the Federal Ministry of Transport during went on inspection of the bridge situated in Onitsha, Anambra State. The experts told the DG that the activities of vandals have contributed to the deplorable condition of the bridge.

Nigeria: Cross River Approves N908 Million Calabar Road Lighting Project
The Cross River State Executive Council has approved the contract for urban roadway lighting projects for Calabar metropolis at the cost of N908 million. Addressing newsmen at the end of the weekly State Executive Council meeting, the commissioner for Works, Hon Bassey Ekefre said the contract, which covers Atimbo Road, Akai Efa, Eta Agbo, Ekorinim would be completed before Christmas this year and would be extended to Calabar South local government area next year.
